Hi there, I’m Sasha
I started working in education over a decade ago, and fell in love with the process of building knowledge, curiosity, and the love of learning with my students.
Bio
I began working in education as an AmeriCorps service member in 2013-2014, working with a seventh grade class in East Harlem, New York. It was this position where I first realized my passion for meeting students where they are, and individualizing lesson plans to make learning fun for all students.
I graduated from the City University of New York in 2020 with a degree in Russian literature. I am passionate about all things literary, and I love to share that excitement with my students.
I have experience working with various tutoring companies, including Lindamood-Bell, where I received training in teaching reading and writing to all students, especially those who have dyslexia and other learning differences.
I am familiar with the Orton-Gillingham approach to phonics, and I incorporate it into my phonics curriculum.
I started my own tutoring practice in 2025 in order to have the independence to fully customize the curriculum for each student. I create all my own lesson plans, tailoring the learning experience to engage and challenge each student at their current level.
